2010 – 2015 member of the PISA-PIRLS-Taskforce of the International Reading Association (IRA), since 2013 appointed by FELA (Federation of European Literacy Associations) (http://www.reading.org/general/CurrentResearch/Reports/PISAReport.aspx )

2006 co-initiator of  «Netzwerk Leseförderung Lüneburg»,  a network for regional reading promotion with different community initiatives and programs (www.netzwerk-lesefoerderung.de )

2002 – 2007: International Research Correspondent for German speaking countries for „Reading Research Quarterly“ (USA).
