Fields of expertise

My research focuses on digital literacies, in particular, assessing and supporting online readers when they use the Internet for learning.  I am interested in individual differences in students’ online research performance. At the moment I work on a 5-year project called “Educating Critical Online Readers” funded by the Academy of Finland. In the project, I develop and tests methods to assess and support students’ critical online reading skills.  I have also researched multimodal literacies.
