Maria Lourdes Dionisio
I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Education of the University of Minho where I coordinate the Doctoral Program on Literacies and the Teaching of Portuguese.
My research interests are in language education, reading and literacies in young and adult education, in academic and informal contexts. Initial and Continuous Teacher Training for disciplinary literacies and the pedagogy of multiliteracies is one of my main teaching and training activities. I conduct research at the Research Centre on Education – CIEd, which I coordinated between 2011 and 2017.
I have been Principal Researcher in national competitive research projects, among which: Changing Lives. Literacy in Adult Education (PTDC/CPE-CED/105258/2008) and Coordinator at UMinho of several European Projects such as LIFT2 – Literature Framework for Teachers of Secondary Education (502357-LLP-1-2009-1-NL-COMENIUS); ELINET (European Policy Literacy Network, – EAC/S05/2013) or Ble*Teach – Developing a Blended Learning Course in Content Area Literacy for Secondary Teachers (E+/VG-SPS-NW-15-30-013892).
I am a member of the Scientific Committee of the Portuguese National Reading Plan since its creation in 2006. I am the President of the Portuguese Association of Literacy and the national representative at the European Federation of Literacy associations.
