Fields of expertise

I have a PhD in comparative literature (Utrecht University, 2015). Since then, my work is mostly focused on the intersections between literature, reading, and digital media. As such, my research connects to Digital Literacies.

Institution / Country
I work as an assistant professor in Culture Studies at Tilburg University’s School of Humanities & Digital Sciences, the Netherlands. From Sept. 2020-‘23, I’m a Marie Shklodowska Curie Fellow residing at University of California Santa Barbara, and the Norwegian Reading Center, University of Stavanger. Project: ‘TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read): Close and hyperreading of literary texts and the modulation of attention.’

Languages 

Dutch (mother tongue), fluent in English, reads German and French.
